Ron Androla lives in Erie, Pennsylvania with
his wife, Ann, a large black dog and two cats. His most recent book is
POET HEAD, selected poems 2001-2005, published by Rank Stranger
Press, 242 pages, perfect-bound, 8"x11" format. He's been active in the
underground/small press world since the late 1970's, with 40-some
chapbooks to his credit.

Let us consider
Ray Carver's
eyes rolling up into the whiteness
of death like bowling balls
smash pins. His words
slide over our bones &
crack our heart. Let us consider
crazy clams under Ray's small boat.
They clack, clatter, bubble
up poems. Let us consider
using dying trout in a game
of pool
—
fish over felt.
Ray is laughing louder than a
man.
Sylvia Plath is sulking
inside a dark cloud,
& she's never been happier.
Let us consider
dead poets,
& why we're alive,
why we must write.
