
Writer/editor/teacher
giovanni singleton, a native of Richmond, VA, is founding
editor of
nocturnes (re)view of the literary arts, a
publication dedicated to innovative critical and
creative art from throughout the African Diaspora and
other contested spaces. Her work has appeared in Five
Fingers Review, Fence, Aufgabe, Proliferation, Chain,
Callaloo, The Breast: An Anthology, and
Beyond the Frontier: African American Poets for the
Millennium, edited by E. Ethelbert Miller. In 2000,
her writing was featured on the exterior of Yerba Buena
Center for the Arts in San Francisco. She has taught
poetry in the San Francisco Unified School District, the
De Young Museum, and at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga,
CA. singleton is a recipient of a New Langton Bay Area
Award Show for Literature. |
