Crayola
Sky
Cycles of sleep eluded my hands
still I swooped the brush
squared our dream house under a crayola sky
with sweet candy crescendos-
sea green Popsicle licks, splashed purples of rain drops
dab of a blood rose, crowded orange hugs
and yellow yawns of
Good morning honey
But
my hands grew weary
the last spell of testimonials
where we live, fell in a spill
of blue moon on the roof
and ice hot foot prints
struggling from our door
with a gold leaf tucked
in the belly of a bush
my heart spinning a silver band
and you, a mid summer's wave
from the window...gracing the canvas.
