I drove far away to get

I drove far away to get

away from blake’s lyrics       simply (stated) it

went nowhere

the ether went so far and then oxygen

thinned even more     you shaped lightning on

a balcony singing lyrical passion for those

who did not know how to sing

you could do anything and I would follow

along hoping your mysticism is diluted

and played on a piano     if you read it is

even better      but it is never read and

that is when automatic writing is (like) a Ouija

board     I want to drive away to somewhere

that is not felt       and not infused

with numbers that add up

change your direction to the planets       hoping

for hope     the non-believer is excited

the believer accepts the sequence of

the poem           accepting it more like

the details of rain screaming from

the balcony       stripping naked
