THE FINGERS

Need
Beautiful Sentences    Because

Trigger   Blade   Stone
And all their dozens of cousins
Are mute    But listen well

The Hand
Prefers
The vowels
In GO & STOP

The Human Heart    Though
Won't slow down    Can't think straight
Drowning in Blood
Hungry for its
Plant World Reject    Oxygen

THE DIVINE SPOON

Wants
An endless feast of silence

Wants
A diet
Of braided star light

Wants
To devour
The blue bowl
Of a desert sky

Wants
To escape from the scream
From this melon-cup shovel-scoop
Bleached white
Calcium-shell blood-soaked brain of mine

MARX ONLY

Wanted
To Help You

Lenin & Hitler
Both kept pets
Fed them well

Many Germans in the 40s
Listened just to Classical Music
Because Stalin issued
Edicts against it

Thank God for the Atlantic Ocean
For our own quaint particular forms of hatred
Even Still    Terror can weave
A Noose  From any cobweb   Any silence
