How easy to jump off the Promenade, Deck 7.
Hart Crane jumped ship off the coast of Mexico.
He waited for dawn when los tiburones swam
along the vessel waiting for just an opportunity.

Yesterday the captain announced
Cuba was just off the horizon.
Look out for a shadow in the distance.
I stared at the silhouette
forgetting to breathe
realizing that is how I always pictured
it would be, the shadow of a lone shark
swimming, waiting for me.
