GUEST EDITOR GABRIEL GUDDING ~THE STRANGE CALL
VOLUME 19, ISSUE 3 ISSN 1543-6063

Scherzo

Like cash on trees of poor
I hear the great boy-man
sure as referent goes

His fire is set by law
His history is of flight
His pride a sealed container
with truth to burn

His motive is a laugh
His hope a preparation
oh, for a marriage of topaz
and sugarless gum

Objective Burma Shave

With heavy heart pounding
love not given love
math done by organism
that pays for dough in recipe
from universe direct

We too brave countless
swing royal axe backward
drive shiny loaf of bread
on threat of vernacular
stopping at the crust half-eaten
