Honey gatherers

each bee burrows in
saying petal,
            petal, fur, fur

tongues and throats alive with sugar
each mouth pillows around the juice
           and sucks

midnight rings each body
of yellow silt
          (sun powder)

on their legs and hairs
glowing motes
          dust honey

after a shower
her hair carries
its own weather
