Traditionally, we have
published poems, short fiction and critical essays. This
tendency will probably persist, but we seek to publish
anything people may wish to read.
Submit a not-too-massive
amount of poetry, fiction and/or non-fiction, preferably
in the body of an email (or, if you must, as a word
attachment). Obviously the poetry and fiction can
embody any form and deal with any subject. The same
holds for the non-fiction. Feel free—feel encouraged—to
submit short or long(ish) essays on subjects having
nothing to do with literature or art.
Be not shy. We are fairly
open to publishing writers who have not published
before, just as we are open to turning down the work of
well-known authors. This is ultimately about the words.
We don't want your sloppy
seconds: we are not open to publishing work that has
been published before—even in blogs or on personal web
sites. We also don't consider material that is being
considered by other venues. Monogamy is a virtue we
espouse.
Send submissions to
mipoesias at gmail dot com. Include a brief bio, even
if you have not published. Response times will vary, but
since some of us have run out of Aricept, send us a
follow-up email if you do not hear from us within 52
days.
If we accept your work, you
will be asked to send us high-resolution photos (300 dpi
or greater) of yourself looking into the camera and away
from the camera. If you are especially photogenic, we
may ask for multiple angles.
Publication will consist of
a downloadable Adobe PDF and a print journal available
from
amazon.com.
We currently do not offer
contributor copies as compensation.
